Remote wire lead is reversed. please help
has anyone had a problem with their remote wire on their aftermarket HU turning the amp ON when the radio is off and shutting the amp OFF when the radio is on? the wire has power and is doing what it's suppose to do, just opposite.
too weird!
When does the wire have voltage - when the head is on or off? It should have voltage when the head is on - if it is the other way around, the head unit is the problem. If it is correct (head on, remote wire has voltage out) then there is a problem with your amp if is being turned off in that state.

the wire has voltage when the head is off. the amp is brand new so it should be fine. is there another wire i can hook the amp to besides the remote lead??

Then either the head is defective, or more likely you are possibly using the wrong wire - the typical color for the remote out is blue
What brand/model head is it? Maybe we can confirm for you ....

its an old pioneer deh-p835r. i'm running it from the blue wire. it worked fine for the 1 day or so but just recently it started doing it.
check the white with blue wire. it might stay on the whole time with the radio for power antenna. or just use the red wire and splice the radios red wire and the turnon to the amp. it'll keep the amp on while the ignition is on, but thats no big deal.

There were a few HU that had a neg trigger output also, [Mazda power ant.] haven't seen one, [neg trigger out] in a few years.
