Default trunk light question

i have a 93 civic dx 4 door and i don't have a trunk light in the trunk. sometimes i need it so i went to a junk yard and took one off of a cavalier so that i could mounti in my trunk. i first tried to wire it to my third brake light but its only hot when the brake pedal is pushed down. what else would be hot or a good wire to run it off of. does anyone know if there is a sensor in the latch because there is a trunk open light in the gauge cluster. thanks for the help.

There is. I can't remember what color, I'm thinking green with a grey or black stripe, but I could be totally off. If you pull out the rear seat, the loom that goes to the trunk on the driver side has the wire, and some times has a plug that will have that wire on car side and no wire on trunk side. Maybe somebody that has done an alarm lately knows. Or ask what wire to hook up an alarm for trunk.

should be Green/ Black (-)

My notes say green molex connector drivers kick.
if not it comes up from the back along the drivers side in the bundle.
