i just installed my Pioneer 800watt amp with 12'' rockford sub in my 98 accord. when i had it in my 93 civic, i had the dial on the amp set to 1/2 way and it was shakin my mirrors( connected to pioneer head unit). now in my accord i had to use a line out put converter..connects to my rear speakers. cuz its a stock face. the dial is set to max and my bass isnt hitting as hard as it should be. any may know why? maybe i got a bad ground? trunk is better insulated?(i doubt it though). thanks for your help.

Cars with trunks generally may not be as loud as hatches. Too much material to get through. Maybe time for an additional sub

I think its time for an aftermarket Head Unit. Considering you had to use a line output convertor, its not really hooked up in the best way to begin with, get a new deck with actual preouts, that'll make a difference. The Head Unit is probably one of the biggest parts of your system anyhow, you'll enjoy it much better.

another sub and new head will help.did you face the speaker towards the front of the car or back?face it towards the back of the car for more output.your loosing output because the sound is going thru the materials and metal.it you had a bad ground, you would have alot of engine noise or would'nt come on at all.
You definetly need to get rid of the stock deck. It makes a huge difference

If its a dual voice coil, make sure you connected both of them. Also, if you have a ported box, you may want to go to a sealed now that you have a trunk. And a new headunit is a must.

hatchbacks sound TOTALLY different, try itr in your friends hatch and you will see it plays the same as before

i didnt want to use the line output converter either but....i had no choice. yea its a sealed box and only a few months old. how much would a head unit cost to fit my 98 accord ex. (the big cd player)
i dont really think a huge difference, but a significant amount of difference would be there. especially in the speakers if u dont have an amp
#1 make sure you have your positives and negitives hooked up right. I hooked them up by accident once and had to rip every thing apart to find that out. #2 your factory head unit has a horrible pre-amp built inside. #3 it is allways better to run rca's because you are getting a direct signal. you get alot better signal when you dont go through your speakers.
