- Everytime your battery dies or is disconnected your radio will reset and ask for a code.

- if you try too many times and get the err 3 or err e display you'll just have to disconnect the battery again.

- Many of the newer Honda/acura's <<<and CRV'S??>>>>have the code on the side of the glovebox. check there first.

- On 2000+ models you can hold 1 & 6 (on the clock not the code screen), the letter U followed 4 digits will appear and a couple of seconds later the letter L and 4 more digits. Combine the two sets of digits and you have your S/N, without having to remove your deck.

- You have to call the dealer to get the code if you cant find it. you'll need your s/n, VIN, and some proof of purchase. Though it might depend on the dealer you call. You can bring your car to the dealer too, infact some require it. Some charge a fee, some don't. In theory they shouldn't. But some might pass it off as a labor fee for having to find the s/n themselves.

<<<This is about all the information I have found on this website, as well. Is this all that Honda offers???>>>

Sounds about right, the code is an anti theft system, so handing the code out over the phone to anybody that asks kind of defeats the purpose.

I have never been charged or had my customers charged at Honda/Acura, for looking up the code, [as long as the unit was out, and there was proof of ownership] I have only had to do this when we are reinstalling the oem unit, or installing something where the batt. was disconnected, [and for whatever reason the customer did not have the code]

As long as they can confirm the s/n and ownership, it only takes them a min. to get the code. 94
