Stereo issues
Ok I have a 93 civic EX coupe. I have been havin nothing but issues with the sound system in this thing since day one. One of the first issues I had was I was hookin everything up and everything was workin great until I hooked the front right speaker up. After that I got nothing but a buzzing noise. So I figured I would just leave that one disconnected since I got sound from the other three just fine. Well it would work great with the car just in the ignition position but when I actually turned the car on all I got was buzzing. So I gave up for a little while. The wiring harness was cut so last time I made a junk yard run I picked up a stock wiring harness and got it all wired in and then bought the aftermarket harness that just clips onto that and then I wired in my stereo again. Well I didnt have anything to test if I was getting sound or not because I need an adapter for the antennae and its a tape deck and I didnt have any tapes. I had been using my ipod with a tape adapter for music. So I went and charged my ipod and came out about an hour later and my battery was dead. I hooked everything up according to the diagram so any ideas as to why im having these issues?
burn it and start all over lol i am BS'n
Ok well to me it sounds like a bad ground "buzzing noise. " or whineing noise is almost always a bad ground my suggestion is to take a closer look at the grounds
make sure they are as short as possible, and on CLEAN metal ( no paint dirt, not touching carpet) i never use the factory ground spot when i install a aftermarket radio

The factory ground should be black from the factory harness and same for the aftermarket harness. Also try running a ground wire from the chassis of the radio to a metal surface behind the radio slot.
As for your battery draining out it may just be a bad radio. It never happen before until you installed the radio right.

I know the ground wires black but where does it connect to the chassis at? And if I just run a wire from the stud on the back to the metal inside the slot would that suffice?
Make and model of audio equipment, is it just a HU and 4 speakers or do you have amps and subs?
The very first thing I would do is rewire the aftermarket HUs harness directly to the cut leads of the stock radio harness, getting rid of the radio plug you got from the bone yard and the adapter you got that plugs into it.
The whole point of the adapter harness is so you do not need to cut the stock radio harness, if it is already cut there is no point in adding all the connection points that wiring up a stock plug then adding an adapter plug, it adds 3 unnecessary connection points.
Now the above may not be your problem but it in itself, [added connections] is not a good thing, and with all that extra wiring and hard plastic plugs the chances of wires getting pinched and shorted to each other or to ground is a definite possibility.
I would also check the speaker install, speaker terminals and tinsel wiring can short to door sheet metal with some aftermarket speakers if care is not taken, especially door speakers.
It does sound like something my be miswired, [dead batt.].
If your just running a HU and 4 speakers all the wiring from the aftermarket HU harness should be connected to the the stock radio harness.
12V constant.
12V acc.
Illumination, if your HU has one.
Ground.
The 4 pairs of speaker leads.
A metal "L" bracket on the back of the HU, [back brace mounting hole/stud] to the stock rear support brace, [what stock HU was mounted to] will give you the best possible chassis to chassis ground. 94
