Rerouted hood release cable....
I rerouted the hood release cable through the hole where my turnsignals go...
However, the only way i got it to go through the hole was to push away the rubber...
and now there is an uncovered hole where the cable was rerouted through...
is this a bad thing??
if not.. i'm also thinking of routing my 2ga amp power line through the same hole...
........
if its a bad thing to have a hole through there..
what should i plug it with?

What kind of car is this? If you are going to run power wire thru it make sure the wire that is going thru the metal wall has a groument and is fused withen 6-10 inches from the battery.

I cannot fathom why you needed to remove the rubber grommet from a 3/4 inch hole to fit a 1/8 inch cable through...
But to answer your question, no, you cannot run a power wire through an ungrommeted hole. Well, you can for a while, but it's only a matter of time before the metal works its way through and shorts that wire out.

i run the hood release cable thru the engine bay or in the apron upper shroud on all my cars. free security jackers cant reach under your fender and pop your hood that way. everyone do it!!!

it works after u re route it..
getting the cable out is a bitch if: you are too lazy to jack the car up to remove the tire, then remove the liner, then remove the cable... cause all you have is the spare tire jack...

Where the hood release cable (solid black cable) passes through, is the "hole" that i'm talking about...

This hole.. is what happens when somebody pulls away ur liner to access the hood release cable... the liner doesn't stay in.. and then gets pulled behind ur front wheel.. thus making it basically rip off...

that grommet where the wire is going through.. is the turnsignal gromment....

problem is... when i poped my hood open.. my grommet was already pushed in...
by some stupid alarm installers.. who installed a crappy alarm...
i guess i could just fix the grommet, and cut a slit to route the wire through... and put some eletrical tape around it...

The sleeving around the hood release cable is very strong. You can't cut it with an electric saw. No worries with the the firewall.
If your OEM wire is no longer protected by the OEM grommet, that's cause for concern.

ahh... gotcha! For some reason I thought you ment that you rerouted the cable so that the hood release was next to the steeringwheel.
my bad.

Now what about running a 2ga power wire through the same hole?
I could cut a slit through the grommet and run the wire through that hole...
If thats not possible.... where would i install a new grommet?

Check the pass. side firewall for unused holes, a hole can be cut in the dummy plug covering the hole, if there is no unused hole there is lots of room on the pass. side to drill a hole.
