Default SPL? how much can be achieved??

this is a pretty vague question, but im interested..

with my current setup:

jl xr653 cs powered by jl 300/4
jl 12w6v2 in a sealed enclosure to jl spec (made by myself) powered by a jl 500/1
premier p680mp headunit

..what db do you think i could hit.
im really not concerned with spl, im really a sound quality guy; and very satisfied with the sq of my current setup.. but can anyone guesstimate an spl level achievable by my setup?

what can i do to get the best of both worlds here without really sacrificing any sq?

That would be hard to estimate, way too many variables, from sub box design and build quality to speaker install quality to how good the amp ground is, and many other factors. 94

Seriously though, best bet is to take it to a shop and see if they have an spl meter

That is such an open ended question I don't even know where to begin

high 120's sealed. low 130's ported.

Build a ported box tune it 28-32hz to get more output while retaining sq

Guys and girls some good catchy phrases in here!!!

Our Competition rules states ( and its different all over the world ) the single test measurement point is 6" from the central position of the front windscreen of the vehicle as a general reference test point and a common point to return too.

True SPL testing is an Average of multiple (minimum of 5 points) under some predefined conditions on what is played (generally a set of tones NOT music) & positions. Let alone some pretty sophisticated equipment

There is alot of reading materal available on the net or WWW -try car stereo megacrank rules and regulations and alike phrases. hope this is helpful

they say a jet engine generates approximately 145-152decibles. i have heard of car stereos exceeding this but i don't know by how much - or how believable it is. but i think in those environments you'd end up pretty deaf
