Default speakers?

Hey guys, I have a '95 prelude, and the speakers in the back don't work... I was wondering if it could be a fuse, or that they're blown? But even if they were popped, they would make a static noise... right?

I was wondering, if I could get some help, or if the wiring is off... I don't know much about speakers / stereos. Thanks for the help.

There is no fuse, [or should not be] on speaker leads.

The easiest test is to find a speaker that works, [any speaker] unplug the speaker leads from a rear speaker, plug them into the working speaker, if it works the speaker is the problem, [blown] a speaker with an open VC will not make any sound at all. if it does not work the problem is the wiring or the amp driving the rear speakers.

If it is a stock system, [you did not specify] the problem may be in the HU, [head unit/ radio].

You can also use a batt., [9V works best] to test a speaker, [it is a very basic test], touch the terminals of the batt. to the speaker terminals, the speaker should "pop" if not, the VC is open, if it pops it will make noise of some kind. 94

Yea, it's a stock system, no amp, or anything. Will try this tomorrow, just got off of work. Thanks a lot man, I'll post on here what happens. Thanks a ton.

What do you mean by "vc" ?? (sorry, I really don't know anything about speakers.)

I connected the new speakers, and now I was able to listen to music.... Then the stereo said "protect". How do I get past that?

Can you still hear music from the speakers?

If not, check your connections, you may have a short. 94

To check speakers are working or not unplug the speaker leads from a rear speaker, plug them into the working speaker, if it works the speaker is OK
