Default Some questions about compustar install/functions..

this is for cm400

1. What exactly is the purpose of disarm/rearm outputs? i undertstand that they send negative signals prior to start or after or whatever the options are.. but.. can someone give an example?

2. CN1 has red wire which is constant 12v and red/white which is also contant 12v. i wired them together. does that make a difference??

3. for clutch bypass i decided to use black wire from CN3 which allows for negative signal to be sent out to clutch interlock thus bypassing it? does that sound right?

4. any other ways to set POC outputs to AUX without option programmer??

Since I've never worked with Compustar, I can only really answer the first one...

On vehicles with factory alarms, the unit sends out a disarm signal, then remote starts, then rearms the factory alarm. Otherwise, your alarm/horn would go off every time you remote start the car.

What he said ^

I've never installed a compustar so I'm not familiar enough with them to answer your other questions.

Ditto both the above, however I do not recognize the model number, CM400.

The black status output lead, CN3 can be used for clutch interlock.

Yes both the red and red/white can be connected to the same source, as long as that source has the same or more current capability as the power lead going to the ign. switch.

POC output??? 94

OIC, CN3, they can only be programed with the option programmer. 94

How I understood the 12V+ constant thing was, one goes directly to the battery/backup battery (for alarm functions), and the other goes to the ignition harness (for remote start). Now I forget which is which, I think the red/white is the ignition harness one. I doubt it really matters, but I have a DEI backup battery with mine so I just ran the "alarm function" constant to that, and the ignition one to the ignition harness.
