Default Simple amp install question.

I know this is probably a stupid question but I don't know much about installing car audio stuff. When installing an amp in the trunk, what do I do with the remote wire(I think that's what it's called, the small blue one)? I know the RCA wires and the power wire go on opposite sides but which side does the blue one go on? The same side as the RCA cables or the power wire? Every site I look on say something different and I don't remember how I did it in my old Accord.

I run my remote along side the RCA. Power cable is isolated.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers.

For best results all leads should be kept as short as possible, it will take a little more work, but worth it.

Start by buying the correct length of RCA, if buying an amp wire kit, buy one without the RCA and get the RCA separately.

The RCA should be run down the center of the car, under or right next to the center console, it is the shortest distance between the HU and amp, it also keeps the RCAs away from any power leads.

The amps power lead should be run down the same side of car as the batt. is on, probably the pass. side of your car, again the point is to keep the lead as short as possible.

The amp control lead, ["remote wire"] can be run with the RCAs or with the power lead, it is a low current lead so running it with the RCAs or the longer way with the power lead will have no detrimental effect.

A couple more things, keep the amps ground lead as short as possible, and connect it using an existing bolt or stud and nut that is in the floor pan of the car, seat and seat belt bolts work very well, make sure all dirt and paint is remover and ground terminal is in direct contact with the sheet metal of the floor pan.

Solder all the power and ground connections, you can, like ring terminals to the cables.

Do yourself a favor, use an ANL fuse on the amps power lead, do not use an AGU fuse.

This are AGU fuses... http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID1/160/sfID2/167

This is an ANL fuse... http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID...productID/771]

Use this type of ANL fuse holder, [stud and nut]... http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID.../productID/282 94

I hope you're not implying that my answer was stupid. It was short, simple and on topic.

Don't get your shorts in a knot, I was not referring to your post, I was referring to the OPs opening statement.

If I was referring to you I would have quoted you and said so.:/ 94

I had my doubt, but I wasn't certain.
