removing tape deck

Default removing tape deck

so i take it when you remove the factory tape deck all you do is unscrew the screws on the left and right of the console?

any input to make it a fast job. i am replacing with a stock cd player.

you're gonna have to take apart a little more than 2 screws on the console itself unless you got a specialty tool and remove the bolts from the backside.

Remove ashtray/lighter/cup holder assembly for access to two 8mm screws that hold oem back support, or, [this is the way I do mine] from the pass side using a 1/4" drive ratchet, 6"-8" extension, universal joint, [swivel joint] and an 8mm socket, you can reach up to the two 8mm machine screws that hold the HU to the rear support, a trouble light from drivers side will help.
The second way I find a lot easier and less work, and you will need the oem rear support brace for the aftermarket HU.

It is almost the same as the G2, just a little harder to get to screws... http://www.installdr.com/Insta...9.pdf 94

i usually use a skewdriver with an 8mm swivel from behind...works pretty good
