Default Stereo Installation??

I am currently installing a new Cd player and am wondering why it is such a pain. Do you really have to remove the whole dashboard to get at the player? Cause as it is I keep having to remove pieces of the dash without touching the panels beside the player.

Am I doing something wrong?

No .. there is 1 screw in the very back of the unit ... you have to lay on the passanger side floor board and reach behind it and inscrew/bolt it

Will continue to work on it again. Finally cooled down enough to relax and not break something. Was getting very frustrated. Now will go look for the little screws on the back.

Thanks Guys.

when i put mine in, it was such a pain in the ***. yea, you have to take all the console stuff out, not to mention the glove department (at least i did to be able to reach around). i hated it, but it was worth it. plus, i had to install a new piece below the stereo so it would fit right. that was part of the reason why i had to take everything out. god luck, and don't get too frustrated

you don't have to take the two screws in the back out just loosen them about a turn and a half and give it a push from the back, then slide it out the front. the tool of choice is the shortest stubby phillips head screw driver you can find.
