Default remote starter in a hybrid

Does anybody have any experience with installing a remote starter in a hybrid car? I have talked to a few people and some say it can be done and other say it can't, something to do with the voltage given off by the hybrid. any info would be nice.

A remote start system operates by replicating what happens when you turn the key. It merely takes power and through a series of relays, transfers that power to the necessary wires in the ignition harness, ie: ignition, accessory, starter.

As long as it's fuel injected, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to install it.

Thanks, I called local businesses and the local Best Buy and they said that they wouldn't install into hybrids, they both gave voltage as the reason they wouldn't, saying that it's inconstant. I honestly don't see how it wouldn't work; I just wanted some opinions before I tried to do it.

I don't see why not, but I'd wait until some seasoned veterans chime in (ahem, fcm, ahem)...

Sorry don't know any more then you, but I do agree, I can't see why not, I have not done one yet, so I will phone our suppliers and ask, they have not sent any word on problems or not to do them. 94

Thanks for the help. Decided that it wasn't worth the risk. I don't know anything about hybrid cars.

That's a valid concern, but if you get it installed at a reputable shop, there won't be any problems... I think you're just being paranoid...
