remote start for manuals?
I was making both points. Sure I could get an actual picture for each point but I think you get the idea.
Cars rolling away with the ebrake on and in neutral is a way more common occurrence than cars driving away after they've been remote started.

I suppose if you do not maintain your "E" brake system, "rolling away" with "E" brake on would be a problem, "E" brake maintenance should be part of anyone's maintenance of their car, and something I point out to my customers with remote start in their standards, I will not even do remote start in any car that has a defective "E" brake.
Your post sounded like a standard equipped with even a Compustar remote start and "E" brake set could start, and run into a brick wall, my point was it could not remote start in the first place.
I understand your point that just an " E" brake is no guarantee that the car will not roll, but then again, given a steep enough grade, neither is putting it into gear, or even an automatic in park, anyone of them, or combination of them could fail.
The only sure way is to park your car on level ground, set "E" brake, put in park or in gear, and block the wheels, kind of like risk management, how much risk are you willing to take.
I maintain that a standard with a remote start for standard transmissions cars with a maintained "E" brake system is relatively low risk, you face much higher risks driving your car around the block.
