Default relocate head unit

i'm planning on buying an indash video player and keeping my headunit. i was wondering how to relocate the headunit down below the whole dash (no idea what its called). do i need to buy a certain kit? i have an 02 accord. i know the picture pictured is a civic. i was just trying to show you an example.

It is possible, [anything is] it will depend on the "indash video player" you get, there will be no kit that I know of, [although one may be modified to work] but the operative words here are custom install.

Why do you want to keep the stock HU? 94

well its not the stock head unit. i have an alpine (don't know the model name off the top of my head) and the output of the headunit is nice (i have a sound system). i have seen some cars with head unit relocated to the bottom and it looked like there was a kit you could buy for it. thats why i was asking.

Why would you still need a radio? The double din DVD players all have stereos built into them.

because the audio output for the dvd player sucks. i read reviews and they all say that the audio quality is low.

if your buying it either way, why dont you test the audio quality once you get and see how it compares to yours before going throught the hassle of a custome install

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jxi8s2k &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">because the audio output for the dvd player sucks. i read reviews and they all say that the audio quality is low.</TD></TR></TABLE> OIC.. then replace the Alpine HU with an Alpine flip out or double din... http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/p...AV_HU and the output does not suck as you know, [having an Alpine already]

Also if the Alpine HU you have does not have an AUX input your going to need a switcher and you would be using the DVDs audio anyway. 94

I understand this guy. I was considering to get a hu that can at least play dvd's, so I could burn mp3's on dvd instead of cd-r/w. After reviewing their features, I found that they miss some of the things I want and need, but the non-dvd hu I would otherwise get, has it all. So it makes perfect sense to get both.

hey guys thanks alot. i just saw my friend that had it in his car and asked him. he told me that his brother just took the head unit and the dash kit and cut the cut so it would fit in there. it looked really clean so i thought it was a custom kit that they bought.

i would still buy the lcd hu install it in the regular spot, just to see how the sount output compares to your current HU. you can get a good idea off of reviews, but you cant believe everything everyone says
