Got more info from Alpine on Type E, or is this fake. Thought they only have Type S, Type R, and Type X in the line of subs.

The type-e subwoofer was only sold at U.S circuit city locations, it's basically a rebadged version of the type-s sub from last year. This naming is similar to the HP-792 / HP-794 thing you see going on with printers (so you can't price match and start a war between future shop and a computer store for example).
There are a couple of main differences thought between this years type-s and the type-s remake "type-e" sold at circuit city. The real type-s has better thermal capabilities and the tinsel leads are threaded through the spider, the type-e's have none of this.
Not a good buy in my opinon, but at $20 sound-domain users report some decent sound! I guess you should compare ebay prices to a type-s to see how much you are saving.
