Default rca cable question

Hey guys i have a question about hooking up my rcas. My HU only has one rca out and I'm hooking up a 4 channel amp for my speakers. my question is how would i hookup the 2 rcas. I know id need the y connectors, but how would i hook em up? LIke woul i hook it up so that its both white on one y connector to the white output and the 2 red to the red output, or just hook up the red and white on one y plug to the white output on the head unit and the red and white on the other to the red output? thanks guys.

Don't hook both channels of the same RCA to the same Y adapter, if you know what I mean.
Put the left channel of each RCA into one Y adapter and the right channel of each into the other

Does your amp have two seperate gains? if so you might be able to just use one set of RCAs.

run one set of rca's from your headunit and y it off at the back, not at the head unit, i couldnt understand if you knew that or not, and colors dont matter as long as you match them all up and understand which is left and which is right

it doesnt matter what color you use for left or right just make sure when you plug the RCA's into the headunit that you use one color for right and use the same color for right on the amp, but if you're y'ing off it really shouldnt matter

actaully it will matter....voltage will be stronger across the main line and will travel better to the spliting point in rear, plus its cheaper to buy 1 longer cable and 2 jumper cables than 2 long as cables in my mind...less wires = better...plus you can invest in some better wires more prone to resist noise etc...

ok cool thanks for cearing it up. i have monster cable rcas that i took from my dads old setup. the cable is as thick as 8 gauge power wire. these badboys are no joke lol! but thanks for giving me a reason. also, will i notice a sound difference compared to say a HU that has 4 channels?
