question for all
yes rockford fosgate is overrated!!! they're only good for loudness i think. i'd preferably go with other stuff like JBL, Infinity, POLK, Alpine, Kenwood, Namakichi, Clarion. i guess it depends on what you're looking for. my sys. consists of kenwood HU, Polk components, Sony rear speakers, Infinity Kappa Perfect subs, Alpine amp, and JBL amp. goodluck!!!
fosgate over rated?? nah, i wouldnt say so. i've been using fosgate products for 6 years now and never had any problems with it. i love the bass my fosgate woofers put out and the amps work exceptionally well. the only thing i wouldnt purchase from fosgate are their decks. they look horrible!!!
yeah, best buy carries em.. but they only carry the low end models.. u cant find any power dvc series, or any of their hx2 series, do u?? no.. u dont. and besides.. best buy also carries sony, clarion, playstation2, ect.. ect.. so that means that u wont buy any of these products also?? wat a stupid reason for not buying a particular product.
**** i had a RF amp and i kept bowing it over and over a gain so i told to keep it and i personally think RF is crap and i will never buy it again.
my buddy is running two 15" RF subs and my two PG 12" kill his 15" any day they r preatty sad id say

ur joking right sweethooth? you are putting RF and Pyramid in the same class?
i have a RF600a4. this is a very durable, powerful amp. this is no where near the top of the line, but is CERTAINLY not down there with Pyramid.
edit: didnt RF buy out MBQ?

Rockford was bought out by someone, forgot who but they are pretty much along the same lines as Pyramid. Basically if Best Buy carries it I wouldn't buy it.
The person who told me RF is basically a pyramid was right on about everything he said. This was in 97' when RF still made good ****. By the way, it is just there amps that suck for the most part. There speakers where and maybe still are made by soundstream. It's been a while since I've done anything with car audio. Also, I like sound quality. RF sucks for that. I've heard many RF setups. They pound yes. Not my style. I will take 1 jlw6 or w7 or an Idmax over any 2 RF subs. You use your RF stuff against mine. I will sound better. Sorry, don't want to **** anyone off but I heard RF setups, you don't see them in many SQ cars do you. That is why they suck too me. Just my opinion. If you want RF stuff, buy the mid 90's models. They were good.
Rockford used to be the **** way back in the day. Early to mid (1990s) In recent years, their stuff has gone downhill in the minds of many people. There are so many better alternatives nowadays for your money **cough**JL**cough**
any amp - sony, Xtant, RF, pyramid - will keep blowing if it isn't installed right....

Car audio is 15% equipment, 85% install.
We had a car in the bay which had the stuff installed by some other shop. Alpine, CVA1005, DVA5205, Xtant X1001 powering 2 12w3s and a X604 powering the FACTORY bose speakers. It was a 94 Legend and I thought the drivers back then were still 1 ohm. Anyway, to make a long story short, the stereo was fully cranked when the volume **** was set turn to 6. It goes to 35, I think. Both the sales guy and the installer should get a beating.
The car sounded like ***.

And RF didn't buy MBQ, rather Rockford Corporation (the conglomerate that owns RF, LA, Q-Forms, etc) did acquire MB Quart
