Question about speakers in SUV's...
OK my uncle owns a Toyota Highlander SUV (all stock, no modification whatsoever). I wanted to hear how the OEM speakers bass sounded in the car and it sounds pretty good. Same goes with my friends Lexus SUV. But a quick question... do the OEM speakers produce the bass inside the car? Or is there some sort of bass tube around the factory vehicle?
And I'm thinking of getting Sony Xplod's, but I am not sure if they will fit my 95 Accord.

not sure where the factory sub would be located... i was hoping the factory speakers were the ones making the nice deep bass sound.

What? Yes, I'm pretty sure that since the speakers are mounted inside the car, they produce the bass inside as well... Although a little bass escapes to the outside, the actual production of the bass takes place inside the car.

Yes. Chances are that there is a tube that wraps around the whole factory vehicle. I think they put parts of it in the headliner to maximize the waveguide surface area to accetuate the low frequency maturing factor.
You may have to pull some panels but you'll find it on most SUV's.
Passenger cars do not have this feature, however, some mid size pickup trucks do.
