Default Purpose of this DOOR INPUT TRIGGER on a viper security system?

What is the purpose of a "door input trigger wire" (green) on viper alarms? And what wire would I hook it up to on a 92 civic?

Ditto the above, green on Viper alarm is neg. (-) door trigger, [Honda/Acura and most other cars] the violet H1/7 on Viper alarms is the pos. (+) door trigger, [Ford and some other makes]. 94
