Default pulsating noise from subs

my subs are pissing me off. when i listen to music, there is a pulsating noise from my subs. its like "bump bump bump bump" realll fast. even when i turn the volume all the way off it does that. i checked and re-did my ground because i thought that was the problem. i even sanded down the metal so there would be direct metal contact. it still didn't solve the problem. i saw that the rca cables could be the problem so i disconnected the rca cables, but the noise was still there. i dont' understand where the subs are getting the signals from because when i disconected the rca cables, there was nothing running to the subs. what else should i check?

it just started to happen like not too long ago. the amp is some generic 1000 watt amp. i'll find out the name later. the amp is grounded to the bolt right behind the rear seats. i grounded it to the same bolt that my alarm was grounded to. its like right above the fuel tank. i dont' know how else to describe it. the ground is no longer than 7 inches from the amp.

Is that bolt going into a "nut" welded to the bottom of the floor-pan, or is it one of the screws holding the metal access panel, [fuel pump] to the floor-pan, if so, you may be screwing into a plastic "nut". 94

check your speaker wires themselves to see if they are split/cut open and touching each other, check the wires all the way back to the head unit. I had the same problem, which was accompanied by a loud high pitched buzz. Turned out my rear deck speaker wires were laying on top of my cross over wires, which layed across the positive terminal of my capacitor. All in all, I didn't have any bare wires touching each other, the electrical current was enough to cause the same symptoms, so I guess my other point is to check any of your speaker/rca cables, are they lying next to/on top of your power cables? Hope this may help
