Plexi-glass boxes
the issue isn't usually if they work or not - its if you enjoy the type of sound and the frequencies it reproduces.
I belive your talking about a bandpass box. It's usually the most efficient, but unfortunetly, also plays the narrowest range of frequencies - it sounds boomy and its also very difficult with that type of box to hear distortion on your subs.
Take a listen to a ported (box with holes...) and a sealed.. (a good ol' box) and see what you enjoy.

Ugly (IMO), expensive, difficult to cut/build, and far from scratch resistant. It'd have to be pretty thick (1") inorder to prevent flexing, so I think that the weight would be substantial.
I like mine. I did the front plexi and had the sub firing into the car. The rest of the box is wood. It's expensive and like they said it's very heavy.
