Default oil pressure sensor question

does anyone know how to hook the power wire [to the LED] up so it only turns on when I turn my headlights on? I want to do this without going straight to the fuse box.

Um, what? Are you talking about only having the gauge operate when your headlights are on? Or are you asking how to get the gauge's illumination to turn on when your headlights are on?

Lots of ways to do it, but probably easiest is to tap the parking light wire at the switch or dimmer. Or, you could pull the cluster and tap the illumination circuit there. Or, you could grab the signal in the radio harness...

What vehicle are we working on?

just get a add-a-circuit from pepboys (5 to 10 bucks) and put the add a circuit in the headlight fuse location(with 2 fuses in the add a circuit) then run the wire up to the gauges. Easier done then said.

Actually plugging the gauge's illumination wire into the park light free pin, [assuming its a Honda/Acura] would be easier, use the free pins, thats what they are there for. 94
