yes we need more info.. some if not all the newer hondas come w/ an immobilzer chip in the the ignition key, you cant see it but its there.. when u buy a car new you get 2 normal black keys, 1 grey valet key, and 1 red key.. this red key should never be used unless complete emergency.. i dont know for sure but i do know that once you start the car w/ ths key its made to where it will not let you start the car agian after a certain time.. basically its a key to get you to a dealership to have a new key made..

I work for Honda, and if you have an ORIGINAL key and you just want another copy, then just take it to a dealer, and they can copy it, AND copy the immobilizer code to the new key.
Now, if you dont have ANY original keys, you need to have the car towed into the dealer so they can program the car with a new code, and code your keys as well. Any other questions, PM me. HTH
The Red key stuff is BS, you can copy the immobilizer code from any original key.

k if the red key is BS then what is the point of the red key?? what if you did not have any other original keys, would you be able to copy it from the red one?

the red one is used to unlock the programming feture of the BCM/Immob system. When the immob first came out there were no T5 keys (which are the ones you can copy the original key's code onto). The only way to get a new key was to get one with a pre-programmed code, and then use the red key to enter the system into programming mode. Using the red key wiped out *ALL* key codes, so you'd have to have *ALL* your keys there at the time to get them *ALL* reprogrammed. I think there is a limit of 4 different key codes? Anyhow, this was too much of a pain in the *** and cost too damn much for customers, so Honda came out with the T5 keys, which let you dupe the code from an original key onto it. This way the T5 key works without having to reprogram all of the keys. NEVER start your car with the red key! Just a warning!
