Default Need install directions for 1998 4runner

Can anyone help me with an install into a '98 Toyota 4runner? http://www.installdr.com directions only go up to 1995.

thanks!</TD></TR></TABLE> What do you need to install. if its a HU, then its a pc. o cake, Toyota still uses "ISO" mounting, what do you need to know?

remove radio w/ mounting brackets, [should be 4 bolts] you will need a Toyota pocket, [unless there is already one below the OEM HU] but you probably have the OEM double din HU, so you will need the pocket and a wire harness, you can get both at your local car audio shop, once you have the pocket, you can transfer the radio mounting brackets, [off the OEM HU] on to the pocket and aftermarket HU, wire the adpt. harness, then plug it in, and remount the new HU w/ pocket, reinstall the trim, and your done. 94

Are you saying that the trim just pops out? The instructions for the older 4Runner showed you had to practically take the whole dash apart. I am afraid I am going to need alot more detail. I would assume the wiring instructions would be the same between the 1995 and 1998 4Runner?

the trim just pops off. toyotas are the easiest cars to install a deck in, next to most euro cars. there might be a few screws though, i forgot.

I would assume the wiring instructions would be the same between the 1995 and 1998 4Runner?</TD></TR></TABLE> Yes the older ones you had to remove a lot of ****, and sorry I am at home, had a stroke, its all kind of fuzzy now , but I knom on the new ones its just the radio/heater trim that has to be removed, pull ashtray and just look for any philips screws behind it or anyplace on trim, toyota never hid them, unless they are behind the trim around the heater/air controls, one of the things about Toyota, if you look close, its easy to see how they come apart. sorry I can't be more help. 94
