Default Need help with my system

Ok, i just got some free stuff. This is what I have:
Rockford Fosgate 160.4 amp
Boston Acoustics 5.5 ProSeries Components
Boston Acoustics 757 ProSeries Coaxials
Kenwood Head unit
Two 8inch bazooka tubes

What i want is to utilize this stuff plus maybe spend another couple hundred dollars to make my sound system sound decent. It doesn't have to be kick *** sound and bass, but just decent with nice and adequate bass. How should i wire everything up and what else should i buy to add to this to make it better? I was thinking to use the rockford amp to power both the components and the coaxials. Then buy another amp to power the two bazookas. I am brand new to this sound stuff and i need a lot of help. Also, i was also thinking of replacing the woofers that came with the bazooka with some better 8 inch woofers in the bazooka tube. What should i do without spending a lot of money? What amp should i get to power the subs. Remeber, this has to be low budget. Thanks.

One rookie to another.

What are some of the specs on your Rockford Fosgate amp? If it's a powerhouse, then use it to power the bazookas.

I would get a smaller multi channel EQ amp to power the 4 speakers because you can adjust them better. I personally don't like the 4 speakers to thump, leave it to the subs.

It's only one day since I got my system done. If I would change anything I would run a seperate amp for the sub only. And leave the 4 channel amp to the 4 speakers. Now two of my speakers are amp, and the other two is power by the HU. So I have to compensate by making adjustments so the sound will be even from the driver seat.

Just going by the model number of your RF, it doesn't sound like it has that much power. Tho, it should be enough to drive your cabin speakers (comps and rears). One thing I'd suggest is selling the bazooka tubes. I've heard more than enough tube subs and just don't like them. They can get boomy and loud if wanted, but the sound quality's not there. The bass isn't as tight as many other subs out there. Look into a small JL sub (6W0, 8W0, or 8W3). They're pretty cheap and sound great. Have a good box made and it'll sound much better than the bazookas. Your cabin speakers are great speakers. The JL sub would be a much better match for them. Use the RF you have to power the cabin's and set the HP filter. For a sub-amp, if you're looking for something that's low priced and fairly good, another RF amp would do. If you're looking for something that's kickass and still pretty low-priced, check out the new JL amps. They have a couple of mono amps out, 250.1 and 500.1. The 250.1 is more than enough to power the JL subs and, from what I've been told from a source I trust, the JL amps provide amazing sound quality. Or you could get a JL 300.2 so that in the future, the amp can be used for driving speakers other than subs. Don't get anything Jensen or stuff like that. You'll regret it later. Especially with such nice cabin speakers.

The Boston Pro series components are some of the best speakers you can buy. Period. They won't ever disappoint you. However... They like lots of clean watts. The amp in your head unit will never be adequate. My advice is to use the Rockford amp to power the subs and get another decent 2 chanel amp to drive the components (60 watts per channel minimum) or get a 4 channel for all of them.

Put the tweets as high and as far forward in the dash as possible for the best imaging. I have mine on the sail pannel behind the door mirrors using the angle mounts and i have the mids in the stock door location. The sound staging is great.

The bazookas are ok for decent bass but they will never approach a good sub in a sealed enclosure.

personally if you use the rockford amp with your subs it should work great
i have an older 45 watt Rockford on 2 JL 12w0's and it bumps pretty good

get a cheaper, but not too cheap, 4 channel for your other speakers

just make sure to run good, thick power wire
it really does make a difference
