My system setup. and my slight problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my setup...
Polk audio Dx series front 6.5" components (woofer and tweeters)
Polk Dx series 6 x 9" speakers
Alpine 7" in-dash widescreen
Alpine V12 amp (subs) 500w 2 channel
Alpine V12 amp (speakers) 750w 4 channel
Old school Kenwood tornado 12" subs, free air inverted mounting on bass floor
now, i have a little problem, my left speaker and tweeter stopped working at the same time, I come to find out that the posts were not connected so i re-connected them and now the mid works great but the tweeter barely puts out an sound and sounds distorted.... what could be the problem?

Blown tweeter or x-over is what I would look at first, swap the tweeters, if problem is still on same side, swap the x-overs.

what i will do is probably hook the tweeter up directly to the amp and see if i get the same results... i've heard blow tweeters before but this my be something different

DO NOT connect tweeter to amp directly, you can do severe damage to it.

??? why??? it's connected right now (i'm guessing i have a crossover and all) i might just pull the tweets and rewire new ones with built-in crossovers to eliminate the problem (imo a tweeter is a tweeter)

Because there is current-limiting circuitry in the crossover that needs to be present to avoid overpowering the tweeter...

Its really not. Go to a polk dealer and find some replacement tweeters. Your putting thoses cheap ten dollar swapmeet specials is going to do more harm then good.
