You would need to wire yourself up a set of latching relays and connect the switch and alarm to it. Why not just connect the alarm to it and forget about the switch?

The whole point of a switch instead of having it wired to the alarm is "layers" [although both would be even better] keep in mind, the best way to keep the car from being stolen is to slow down the crook, the longer it takes to steal your car the less chance that it gets stolen.

If all the crook has to do is get past your alarm it makes it easier for him.

Just remind the, "other family member" where and how the switch works, it can't be too hard. 94

Use the lowest Amp fuse that is readily available in an inline fuse holder. 1A, 3A, or 7.5A would be good. Depending on which year/model car you have, you can connect it to your under-dash fuse box option output. Look those up at my site.

If it's a DEI alarm, then the ground when armed output is orange. On most it's going to your starter kill relay. Other alarms will be whatever controls your starter kill relay.

Keep in mind, if you have remote start, most ground when armed outputs are also ground when running on remote start, [used for anti-grind]. 94

Nope. Absolutely not. Radio Shack.

What is the year/make/model and what alarm do you have?

You will need to test the orange lead to see if it is also GWR, [ground when running],

Starter cut and anti-grind are with the built-in starter relay, not sure if the orange GWA output, [H1/12] is also GWR. 94

Yeah the default on that alarm is to have the ground-when-armed grounded during remote start. It is unclear by the instruction manual if they are referring to the orange/black on the ribbon harness or the orange on the primary harness. Wire it up and if it doesn't work, you will have to disable anti-grind. It's menu 3-12. Set it to the 2 chirp (off) setting.

On a 99 Civic the far left option output on the under-dash fuse box is a constant 12v.
