Well, I decided to get the JVC KD-AR870 since my old headunit was a JVC and I didn't have to rewire anything on the harness...it was all plug and play. I was able to take advantage of the USB interface just like I thought I would. On the manual it says that it supports flash drives up to 1GB but numerous people with this unit have reported that there is no limit(so far) on the storage capacity you can use on it.

I picked up a Sony 8GB portable drive with a USB extension cable and got creative with the setup. I think I am in LOVE!

Another Angle

I couldn't find a good spot in the back to mount the Satellite Tune Box so I put it near the passenger side floorboard. It needs all the air it can get because it gets hot when in use. Plus it saved me the trouble of ripping the carpet up and running the wires

i've owned both
i now have the Alpine CDA-9856

Alpine vs. Pioneer

CDA-9856
.BBE
.Simple Clean Look
.Amp Interlink Cable(amp adj. from HU)
.MP3,Sat/HD Radio Ready,Full-Speed I-Pod
.$199 for the 06 9856 model

Pioneer
.Better eq setup ,ez to adjust
.Dolphin screensaver thing was a nice feature

I liked the Alpine Swing deck styles more than the newer ones

The 06 models have all the features but their a lil too plain
