lights dimming with system
i just installed a new amp and new deck into my car and after installing the new i noticed that when i put the volume up on the deck i can notice the front headlights and rear brake lights and gauge cluster dim when the bass hits.
im using 10 gauge wiring battery to amp and the amp is a 900watt (max power) rockford, and sub is a 500watt mtx (1)
any ideas to fix this? i was thinking maybe changing the 10gaguge to a 4gauge wire

Yeah, you need to change the wire, a $20 upgrade, and it might save you from buying a capacitor. The next step is the big 3 upgrade I did it, big difference, last two steps spending 100+ on a capacitor or new alternator, or battery.
Anything else?

Purchasing a larger wire won't help your lights from dimming. All a larger wire is going to allow is for more current to flow through it. However in your case i would get it because a 10 gauge is way to small for a rockford 900 max. You will need to get a capacitor for the system. That is the cheapest and only correct fix for that unless you go with a larger alternator. Which if you don't fix this you will be go through alternators alot faster. hope this helps
i'll try upgrading the wire first...if that doesnt do it then i'll try the other two
could it have anythin to do with the fact im running stock speakers on a 200watt deck..
