Ok, I checked and it has 5 wires coming from the cruise switch, 1 red, 1 red/black, 1 light blue, 1 black, 1 black/yellow. What do I hook up where? I have one wire coming from the relay to the switch.

Is this a single Pole, Double Throw Relay? Hard to explain in text, i'ma draw u up a diagram and post it via photobucket. It's pretty easy to do.

Its a double throw. I know how to wire up the relay though. I just dont know how to wire the Cruise switch. A regular toggle switch is simple because it only has one wire but the cruise button has 5 wires coming from it, so I dont know which wire I connect the relay wire to and what I do with the others.

The red and red/black are most likely illumination, red/black is power, [from head light switch] and red is ground, [from "Dash Lights Brightness Controller"].

The black is most likely the ground for the indicator bulb.

The black/yellow is most likely the 12V+ input to the switch, leaving the light blue as the output, [12V+].

Try it, start by connecting the red and red/black to power and ground, use your cars batt. to test the wiring, if the switch illuminates move on to the other leads, connect the black to batt. neg.(-) and the black/yellow to the batt. pos.(+), turn on the switch, if the indicator light comes on, the wiring is correct and there should be 12V+ on the light blue, [when switch is on]. 94

Ok, so it is the light blue and black and yellow. I am working on this right now and I seem to have run into a problem. I hooked everything up like what I thought was right but my car still turns on when the button is not pressed and shuts off when I press it. It seems as if something is switched. I tried switching the wires (light blue and black/yellow) but it still does the same thing. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Im thinking its something I did wrong on my relay. I tried turning the car on with the ground wire not hooked up to anything and still turned on. I used the setup on this page http://causeforalarm.thecarthing.com...ill/index.html . What could I have hooked up incorrectly to make it not work?

So, when I hook it up to the switch, and ground the other end, the engine turns on, but as soon as I hit the switch to the on position, the engine dies. What did I do wrong?

Sorry, I cut off the top part didnt I. Im killing the ignition. I wired up the relay following those directions, and im not doubting they are correct. Im assuming I did something wrong. Im sure its an issue with the relay, so anyone have any ideas? Fcm? Wrx-killer? Suspendedhatch?

Well, I hooked the power source into 30, and looped that to 86. I hooked the load side up to 87a. And I put the ground into 85. Does that sound right? Would a bad crimp or something cause it not to work?

the best advice i can give you is to use a simple rocker switch run one to 85 ground the other wire to the fender or radiator support (eliminating the cruise switch from the equation) then u can find out whether your problem is with wiring the relay or the wiring of the cruise switch...
from reading your other posts i think you have wired your switch wrong.. use a rocker switch eliminate your problems down to one.. either the relay wiring or the switch itself then we'll work from there..

Ok, so then the switch needs to be off for the car to turn on. I was thinking it would be the opposite and would only start when the switch is pressed. I had it wired like you said. So then this is how its supposed to work then? Is there any way for me to got it to work when the button is pressed? Like, could I switch something? Also, will the car shut off any time I hit the switch then when im driving?

Cause thats kind of inconvenient, the car shutting off if I accidently hit the switch. I really wanted to use the cruise button but what if im reaching for something else on the freeway and I hit the button and shut off the car. Inconvenient!

i think its possible to make it work the way u want it to.. BUT i am not that knowledgeable on it so do NOT try it just yet till one of the experts chime in on this!!! but...
86 ground
30 power
87 load
85 switch
87a empty
one side of the switch have to have 12v constant and the other ground and the output to relay ..
so when switch on power trigger the relay.. 30 connect 87 and car start..
and again do not try it just yet cause im not sure...

Cool, so that may change the orientation of the switch but the car will still shut off if I hit the button anytime though huh?

Its a problem if you are going to use the switch to control the kill switch and use the switch to work the crusie control. Problem is that you are going to have to keep the switch powered and this might drain the battery. To really get this to work right will require a couple of relays and really is not worth it. Best bet is to use a seperate switch and make sure your alarm is up to par.

Yea, I know, but I really want to use a ghost switch. I think since I dont have cruise control and switch the load line to 87 it might work how I want it to. I just have to be careful not to hit it when im driving.
