Which keyless entry to get...
First off, I did a search and didn't see much about selecting a good one, mostly discussed problems.... so here we go....
I wanna get a keyless entry for my 93 prelude, not interested in full blown security at this point, just tired of using my key to unlock the doors. An accessory function for the windows or trunk would be nice but not absolutely necessary. Anyone recommend any brands?

first off, do you have power locks?? if so then an aftermarket keyless entry will be a lot cheaper to install...
i would look into getting it installed a local chain store, its an easy install and most shops can do it on less than 2 hours on that car.. i work at circuit and we have a dei rattler 100 (i think) and its only like 140 installed i think.. most basic system there is but it works great, step up to the rattler 200 or 250 and you get more options.. good luck

power locks, power windows......... i was looking on autoloc.com at some basic keyless entry systems for under $100.... i've had one or two people tell me they were a decenty source, anybody else got some input?
(again, just keyless entry, not worried about any sort of alarm)

keyless entry systems are VERY basic.. you have a lock, unlock wire, power, ground, and maybe an ignition wire for ignition controlled door locks.. i deal mostly w/ dei products and im happy w/ them.. ive never dealt w/ autoloc systems but i have heard good about them
that's cool.... yeah i know that they're incredibly basic... but i was also afraid that some companies may skimp on a few small items that i'm not aware of... for instance i know autoloc said they have inline relays which makes it easier to install... maybe thats standard, i just dont know
i plan on doing the install myself

Hey man.. I have a 93 lude too.. Not to be mean, but its worth the extra $50 to go ahead and get an alarm too... Honestly, if you got anything from a radio to subwoofers to other valuables, its worth it.... I would go ahead and get an alarm. The one guy that said get one from best buy or circuit city is definently right.. If you are not too worried baout getting your car jacked, but want keyless entry... Get the alarm w/ keyless entry... I knwo the best buy stores will charge $4 or so for install.. I had a friend get a cheap alarm, 150+tax+$4 for install... He has alarm, keyless entry, and everythign he needs for now... He even has an ignition cutoff switch(not as good as fuel, but hey)... Thats only about $50 more than a keyless alone, and its worth it.... No matter how u look at it...
