keyless entry/alarm system
The OEM alarm/keyless entry isn't too tough. Instructions are very good, everything is plug-n-play. No stripping of wires, no searching for lock circuits... everything is ready and waiting for the alarm/keyless entry wiring harnesses.
On the downside, the factory (OEM) alarm/keyless entry is not nearly as good or flexible as an aftermarket unit. It's better than nothing, it's nice to have keyless entry, and the install isn't super tough. But, it won't roll up my windows and I'm not sure it has an AUX circuits that would allow such a thing. Mine came with a siren and hood switch unit that detects the hood raising if/when the alarm is armed. My '99 Integra has an electric latch for the hatch, so I can unlock it via the remote.
All in all I'm pretty satisfied with it. I live in an area that doesn't keep me worried about theft, so I'm pretty satisfied with the system especially since I was able to install it myself. I'm not so sure I could have installed one of DEI alarms.
