JL 10w3 help please
I have a JL10w3 from a co-worker who had it in a JL stealth Box for a S2000. I am going to put it in my integra but i was wondering how much air space the sub needs in a sealed box. This is my daily driver and i want to mkae the box as small as possible without effecting sound. im thinking trying to make a box that will fit under the rear strut tower bar. Also how much power is reccomended to run the sub? I have a Pheonix Gold Ti 400/1 or 600/1 amp. cant remember which one exactly it is. thanks for you help guys.
Kind of depends on what 10W3 you have there are no less the 6 of them 3x10W3v3 and 3x10W3v3, but if it came out of a S2000 stealth box it is a 10W3v2-D6 a 300W continuous, [RMS] DVC 6 ohm speaker, optimum sealed box volume is .75cuft gross.
An amp that makes 1x300-350 watts RMS into 3 ohms is what you need, but it 's better to be overpowered, you can always turn down the amp gain.

yes the sub did com out of the S2000 stealth box. sorry i didnt know there were that many different versions of the 10w3. thanks for your help. Which sub in your oppinion sound better 10x3v3 or 10x3v2? should i even waste my time with this 10x3v2? i dont want anything crazy loud just looking for a clean sounding system. thanks FCM.
Actually they are all about the same, only real diff. is SVC [W3v3] and DVC, [W3v2] and the impedance of the VCs the W3v3s come in SVC 2, 4 and 8 ohms, the W3v2s come in DVC 2, 4 and 6 ohms, you have a 10W3v2-D6 a DVC 6 ohm.
All are 300W continuous power handling, and recommended sealed box size is .625cuft, except the one you have it is .75cuft.
Because of the diff. in VC impedance's there are also diff., [although minor] in the Thiele/Small parameters, The sub you have will give you clean, tight and accurate sub bass response is installed in a properly constructed box and powered properly, [RMS watts].
Is the sub still in it's stealth box?

Yea the sub is still in the S2000 box but my co-worker is going to sell the box and i will make one to fit under the rear strut tower bar of a 96 integra.
