Default Help with sub/amp

I'm looking to get quality sound without going nuts - volume is not important.
I have an Alpine 9813 and I'm planning on getting MB quart RCE 213 components.
No rears.
I'd like to get a 10" sub and an amp to run the whole system. Does anyone have model suggestions? Should I go with other components (must be 5.25)?

if you have lots of room to spare and are on a real tight budget, you could go with a W0, in a slot ported box, running a 4 channel amp in 3 channel mode. THat would work real real sweet. thats what my buddy is doing in his explorer and it is real sweet for what little he has into it.

Would a ported box offer a boomier sound?
I'm trying to get a nice clean/tight sound - I was under the impressions that a sealed box would work best for this.

it all depends on the box itself. Most of the time, people either tune the box way too low or makd the box too big/small.

But since output isn't as important, a sealed box should suffice. Now next question is, how much are you spending on the amp and sub?

I'm not sure how much I will spend. I don't mind waiting and saving in order to get good quality sound. HOwever, I do want to keep costs as low as I can - this system is for my beater (but I'm in it a lot).

Would anyone recommend the MB components mentioned above?
Any recommendations on a brand/model for the 4ch amp?

i'm telling you my buddy has this and its just as clean as my jl w3 in a sealed box. its a little louder, 3 db is about what you get from a JL sized slot ported box.

W0 10" sub... >$100
Slot ported box >$75 if you make it yourself, its real easy.
Alpine's bottom of the line 4 channel amp >175 off of ebay
He has eclipse compnents up front, but lets say around 225 for good components.

575 total= cheap as ****. but don't forget rca's maybe another 35-50 in them, and speaker wire, like 15 dollars.

Kicker Solobarics are worth the money...10's have alot of air movement especially if slotted. My guy runs one with a walmart pioneer 720 amp ... it rocks

i have a 4 channel arc 4150xxk, which may suit you nicely.http://www.arcaudio.com/arc/navigation/xxk4150prodp.htm you can here to see what it is all about. it is a very clean amp as far as appearance and sound quality. i had it hooked up to my vifa components and idq12 sub. sounds awesome. let me know if you are interested.
