iPod hookup for headunit installation help
Did you cut the leads of the adapter and new Pioneer harnesses as short as convienently possible?
Did you "bundle" the leads of the harness together and zip tie or tape them together to make a neat harness?
Although the adapter and radio harness can add 8"-12" of length to the radio harness there is more then enough room behind/below the back of the HU to route extra harness, so it does not get "pinched" under the HU, rub up against sharp edges or interfere with the re-installation of any parts and/or trim.
BTW the Pioneers black ground lead should be connected to the stock radio ground, and using a metal back brace will get you the chassis ground.

No, I didn't cut the leads :/. Man that would probably have made it much easier lol. Now I know how to install the unit more efficiently though : cut the leads as short as conveniently possible like you said, so that it will fit easier.
And, based on the info you gave me, next time I will also bundle the harness wires to make them more compact.
I went ahead and cut the clip off the the black wire and wired it into the adapter harness.
Anyways, after a couple trips yesterday back and forth to cc and bb to ask questions and have them help me get the old cage out since my fingers were being cut up from me trying to get it out, + an extra 6 bucks to get an antenna extension cable since the stock antenna cable is really short, and 30-45 min today I got the head unit all the way in. Everything seems to be working fine - finally done!!! It was definitely a learning experience - now if I decide to in the future, I should be able to get all this done much more efficiently and effectively. I'm just happy I am finally done! No more swapping 20 song cd's all the time!
Thanks a lot to everyone for all the posts and help (especially fcm) - I appreciate - take care!
