Icon2 integra system??

ok so i recently purchased a 94 ls completly stock except for a walmart Head unit. I have a pioneer DEH-P6800MP head unit from a couple years back on my eclipse. In the eclipse i had 2 6.5 pioneer (150W like 40rms speakers) and somethin lik 2 pioneer 6x9 (180w 50rms) in the rear and 2 jensen 12' subs/jensen amp in a ported box i believe, i don't kno what it was but they punched you could feel your insides moves =p I don't kno if it was the head unit or the speakers but i was pleased.

All i have now is the head unit and my integra, i would like to get same sound quality if not better. I don't get it just yet why people dislike the 6x9's but from reading i should go with 6.5 componet in the front and regular 6.5 in the rear? Also looking to get a decent sub that can give me that punch i liked in the eclipse. i don't plan on gettin an amp for the speakers right now, right now i just am lookin for some decent speakers and possibly a sub with the punch i'm looking for. The bugget i have to work with is around 200-450 for 4 speakers and if possible a sub. I don't plan on attending car shows or anythin like that just want somethin to wow my guests in my car and somethin to where i can turn up the volume with out the sound gettin distorted.

on speakers i would go with a good name brand and stick with the stock speakers size for ease of install and 6.5's would sound good. you dont have to go with components up front but they are cleaner and smoother. I would go alpine type s they are about $100 a set so you got about $200 on your front and rear speakers.
And for a sub I would get a good 12" for a good price rockford fosgates arent bad I will probably get flamed for that but for the budget they hit good. I think a 12" P1 is about a hundred put it in a ported box you could build or have someone build you for like $100 or probably less. in that hatchback ported will be good to get a nice low hit. and for an amp for it you can get one for $150 to $250 shop around stick with a name brand on anything you get and match rms with your sub and amp dont worry so much about max because you wont be hitting max.

I was getting some gsr door pannels so i thought i would go with the componets up front and the fact that they would give me a clear crisp sound. alpine type s componets good up front for aroud $100? and these pioneer 4 way in the back ??

And the rockford fosgates for a sub and amp to match the rms for now ? whats the difference in the boxes, is the ported boxes the ones that give you more of a hit or ..?

lol whats so bad about fosgate? kicker way better or ?

You do know you do not have to have a sub to get good SQ, a sub can always be added at a later date, [if you feel you have to have one].

Your SQ will come mostly from the speaker install, with or without a sub, spend your time and effort on the front speaker install, [regardless if they are coax, point source or component].

The single best improvement you can make is to replace the stock plastic speaker housings with custom MDF housings, [a speaker mounted to wood will sound better then the same speaker mounted to any other material].

A good way to lower the speakers f3 point is to replace the stock plastic vapor barrier with a Dynamat, [or the like] one, [the better the seal on the speaker cabinet, [door] the better the SQ, especially bass response.

Forget about anything but a mid-range/mid-bass drivers in the rear, [no tweeters]. 94
