Default installing an alarm

ok... i figured out most of it... im just having a pain in the *** time... well actually i would prolly figure it out but if anyone has any advice to offer it would make it easier...

i got an auto-mate 553 alarm (got it for $40) im not using the auto-start... i dont need that... any good places people have hidden these units and where have people tapped the wires... and more importantly which wires have u guys tapped for the door switch wires? also what and where would i tap the "optional momentary switch" and the "domelight supervision relay" which it says is optional...

any advice would help... thanks

Default Re: installing an alarm (ek9t)

For alarm brain location, the best location is one that requires you to remove the dash to install. That way the wires can't be accessed. Then make sure you make the wires look like stock wires, so that the theif can't cut them. Hide them too.

My most of my wires for the door locks and door switches are tapped from the wires above the left driver kick panel, behind the hood latch and around the cruise control brain.

Dunno about the domelight, but I'm guessing you need to lookup the wire that activates the domelight and attach it to there. The door switch might be the momentary switch they are referring to.
