Some Help With Alarm
1992 Honda Civic LX
Viper 350 Plus
The alarm was installed by a shop and what they did with the wires for the door lock/unlock is just run them from the cabin through the door jamb area and its not covered by anything, pretty much exposed. I was wondering if this can be cleaned up by using wires that are inside the car already. I noticed the wires in the door on the car that were used are green/white and green/red both with silver dots. I found wires of the same color in the cabin but I wanted to ask someone with more knowledge if these will work, the wires I found are located under the driver's kick panel right in the middle and are attached to a gray plug. I'm hoping if those will work I will just tap into those and not worry about my door or the elements damaging the wires.
Also, I have a Crimeguard AU94T motion sensor but like I've read the plug does not fit for Viper alarm systems. I cant seem to find any extra plugs or anything so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, maybe go to an alarm shop and ask if they have any spare wires sitting around?
One more question, I was curious about Directed Electronics' Backup Battery Siren. Does it work well and is it easy to install?

Yes, the wires can be found in the driver kick pannel.
POWER LOCK GREEN/WHITE
POWER UNLOCK GREEN/RED
Make sure you test all wires before tagging into anything.
Look at the dei 520t back up battery. Its a better choice imo. MAke sure you do not buy it online. I seen to many bad units. Find a new one from your local dealer.

sweet man and are the lock wires the right ones? under the kick panel right in the middle if youre driving i guess they would be right above your shins or so....
any way to test the 520T backup battery other then fully installing it, unhooking the batt then trying to set the alarm off?
oh and any suggestions for my plug dilemma?

Yes, you can allways test the dei 520t. Bench or in the car. The biggest problems I see from ebay ones is that the battery will not hood a charge or is very weak. You should be able to wire up your alarm and it work right of the back up battery as soon as you test it out.
Or some of the output triggers don't work. Buy the time you buy a new battery or replace the unit you could of bought a brand new one with a warranty.
When tagging into the door keyless entry. You need to test the wires. Just because you have a tech sheet does not mean its the right wire. Check before taggin any wires. Some wires share the same color. And when you tag the new wires they should not be in your way while you are driving.

I don't recommend you use the AU94T on a Viper alarm. But you can get those plugs off alarms you find in the junkyard. Several brands use them and DEI alarms are the most commonly found.
Another option is to buy a DEI glass break sensor. The plug for it has a Y so you can plug in another sensor. But if you get a glass break sensor you might as well throw your AU94T away.
If memory serves me right on the earlier half of the EG's the gray plug holding the lock and unlock wires is near the main relay. In any case you must verify the wires with a multimeter. Get one for $20 at Sears. Set it to DC 20V. Ground the black probe (the pin in the door jamb is handy, just stick the probe in). Shove the red probe into the harness plug on the wire you're testing. Hold the lock or unlock switch down and watch the voltage.

thanks!, there arnt many junkyards left on oahu and it will probably be difficult, youre right ill think of getting a glass break sensor
thats too bad the wires closer to the main relay are quite difficult to reach but im sure with the right connectors it will simplify the process a little
