Icon4 Viper alarm doesnt function after disconnected from car.

Long story short i had a supposed experienced installer do my alarm. Although everything worked his connections were horrible literally twisting wires together with tape over them and had the module in my kick panel...

I redid all wires myself being pissed off since i cant trust him to do it. Solderd, heat shrinked, taped and twisted wires. I took pictures and wrote down colors from what he did since everything worked before and made sure to put everything back the way it was.

i plug the brain back in and i did hear one chirp when i plugged it in but i get no function at all, no matter what button i press on the transmitter it doesnt function and i get 5 flashes which from what i decipher is something with the brake switch? Not sure of this though im going to recheck the wires regardless to triple check everything.

Is their something else im supposed to do like reprogram or re pair the remote since it was disconnected? Also read something about turning ignition on then plugging in the main 12 pin?

It is a 5701 with keyless entry and remote start, thanks for anything.

If you take the car to a local car audio shop, they are going to do the same thing, except use end cap connectors for wire connections. They will put the alarm module in the same spot, which is convenient for thieves.

So...the remote start feature is/was supposed to be wired up?

You shouldn't have to reprogram the remote unless you're adding a new remote to the existing system. As for turning on the ignition while plugging the harness in, there's no need for that.

Yea thats why i just redid everything right myself.

It all worked fine though before i redid everything. lock, unlock, remote start all worked.

But after redoing everything nothing works and my key fob flashes 5 times not sure if i need to reprogram or something.

Reprogram the remotes, make sure ant. is properly plugged in.

Although you should not have to reprogram the remote after system is unplugged, [memory should be held in ROM] but it is acting like either the ant. is unplugged or main unit has lost remote memory.

The ign. on before plugging in the brain is just to prevent alarm from going into full alarming mode, [silent power up] not sure if your system has that. 94

Ok It does seem properly plugged in I held the button on that valet/remote button on windshield just to see if it would turn on and I got a blue led light that stayed lit.

Im guessing It went into a setup menu or something but I just wanted to see if it turned on and it did. The instructions on programming the remote seem a little fuzzy but ill try to figure it out I have the owners and install manual both plugged in.

What kind of car? Five flashes is the error code for brake wire being on. Its the small brown wire that goes to the brake 12 volt when pressed wire......also dont forget to plug in the black two wire switch.

A video the key fob? anything i try to do just makes the key flash amber 5 times.

Even when trying to do the auto learn deal for the remote ill get a solid green then hold the remote button and its supposed to stay solid amber but instead it flashes 5 times. I played around with the antenna a couple times and got it to turn solid blue on the LED but i didnt actually know what i was doing.

When i get time ill have to check everything i might have got a wire switched around is only thing i can think of.

The idiot that did it used random colors to do **** and makes it hard to trace, may have got something switch when i soldered them.

Theres a wire coming off the brake switch directly to a green wire on a relay which is i believe is the remote start relay and im not sure if thats right or not.
