Install - Do I Need To Beef Up Stock Elec?
This will be a little long and appreciate help so far. This is going in 1996 civic ex coupe. Bone stock. Plan is pretty much in place. Question about whether I need to beef up the power wiring for the factory electric under the hood. This is the battery terminals, power and ground wires which I believe are 8ga at most. System is 1 amp and not huge power.
Head unit - Panasonic cq-rx400U. 2 sets preamp outlets.
Amp - MTX Thunder 704x. 70 watts RMS X 4. Not the best but $100 at CC going out bus sale. Was that or going Profile AP. Think this is probably a better amp. MTX recommends 4ga wiring kit.
Fronts - Eclipse sp6510. 60w RMS.
Rears - Eclipse sp6900.
Amp to be mounted on a 1x12 to the rear seat. Considering a 4 channel 4ga amp from Knu Koncepts for $60. This looks fun and will be pulling lots of seats anyway to get the amp and the 6X9s in. Looks like one of the most challenging things will be getting new speaker wire thru door.
Anyway, do I need to beef up the battery connections and factory grounds? Let me know. Thanks.

Although a 4ga power cable can't hurt, @ 280W rms you will not need anything bigger then 8ga unless the cable is going to be longer then 12-14 feet.
Again, 4ga can't hurt and if I remember correctly the MTX X Thunder amps all have 4ga power/ground terminals.
The only upgrade I can see you needing is to "beef up", [add] the batt. to chassis ground, kind of pointless to have a 4ga power lead to the amp and only the stock "8ga" chassis ground from the batt.
I would add a 4ga ground from the batt. neg.(-) to the chassis, shock tower studs work well.
With that said, you can never go wrong with an upgraded alt. although with less the 500W RMS it is unlikely to be an issue. 94
