I cannot figure out how to wire a switch , it keeps burning the wires..

Im just using this as an example...

Lets say i wanted to wire headlight flashers up to a switch, Where does the power, Ground, and the wire to the flashers go? I cant figure it out

 

If you wanted to wire up a heavy duty circuit like headlights, you'd also need a relay.

If your wires are burning, you're either shorting them to ground or using way too small gauge of wire. USE A FUSE.
