Hood cable relocation... to passenger side?

Hood cable relocation... to passenger side?
I've read all the articles on the hood cable relocation trick, but was wondering if anyone has tried to do this to the passenger side. If this is not feasible, I have another little trick I think will be a great theft detterent...
