Default Help! System not sounding right

Hi guys,

I have MB Quart QM218 comps up front and DLS 6x9's in the rear.
All powered by a 4 channel PPI amp. All this in an EK hatch.

My problem is that even my cheapo JVC speakers in the other with a cheapo amp has better bass than mine.

Whats the problem?
I mean the sound is crystal clear but am just getting little to no bass.
Is there something wrong with the tuning?

Or did the installer who tuned my system cut off the low frequency?
I will go to a reputable tuner to tune my syste,so is there something i should look for or ask when going there?

I used to sell PPI and MB QUART and that combo will get you crystal clear sound and not much base. MB QUART has really high highs and basically you need some sort of sub to produce base. You are dealing with higher end equipment and you’re not going to get the average all around sounds that you would with lower end equipment. I don’t think it’s the install but get it looked over if you are worried about it.

Thanks for the replies.
Didnt know my combo wont yield much bass. But you are right, crystal clear sound!
I'm at -2db at the x-over and still i feel it's a little to high for me.
I will get it checked this weekend or next.
I will look at the x-over switch on the amp as well.

That is pretty much just they way they are – add subs things will be more balanced. What exactly do you have in the car now and what are your plans?

The stuff i haver in my car is listed in my first post.
I am running an Alpine deck.

I wanted to keep my car light thats why i didnt want to go for a sub.
I thought 6x9's wil give me some bass but i was wrong.
Future plans is just to have SOME bass without adding a sub.
Hopefully some tuning will help. I already have most of the things i want which is clear sound.
