Default combining amps....

hey i need some help, i have two amps, a ppi d500/1 mono block and a old old school dei 2102, 400rms 2 channel. is there any way remotly possible that i can have both these amps running my 2 ppi pc122(500max, dual 2ohm voice coil) subs? they are in a dual vented box as well. thanks for the help.

NO, the amps are not "strapable", the only way would be to drive each sub off one of the amps, NOT recommended, [hard to do even if the amps are identical, unless using separate boxes or a 2 chambered box]. 94

so say i sealed my box off into two seperate boxes(sealed the divider in the middle), would that work? or would it sound like crap?

Yes you could, [and would have to] the trick then would be to balance the outputs, [gains] of both amps so the subs would "work" at the same level, and as I said that can be hard with identical amps, [unless strapable].

Can't hurt to try, if it does not work you can always get another amp to do the job, the sub box will not change. 94

I believe you could "strap" these two amps, it wouldn't be an easy task. You would need an oscilliscope to verify the outputs are the same.

Not something I would recommend. But it "could" be done.

*edit* oops didn't see the second amp was a 2 channel. Nope cant be done easily would need a transformer. More work then its worth.
