Yellow needs to go to a source of constant 12v. You can get this at the battery, fuse box, or ignition harness...

yellow need to go to ground. you could put a switch in so it'll turn on when you use the switch. other then that you can rig up a relay to switch ground on when power goes off.

for mine. What I did was go to the fuse box, and look for place that was empty. Then took a test light, and hooked it up to ground, So when I turned the key on, I looked for a empty socket, that was Off when the key wasn't on, and then On when the key was switched to the on postion. And then used a spade terminal, (i think whats what it is, The one that looks like a 2 prong fork) and used that as the lead. Never had any problems, To be on the safe side, Run a fuse inline

why the hell does an LED need constant power? Is it going to "forget" something?

im pretty sure it works like this .. when hooked up the way they want .. the led stays off when the cars on.. and turns on when the cars off.. kinda like a turbo timer.

im probably making this alot harder then it is but i just wanted to see what would be the best thing to connect it to.. the red and yellow work in conjuntion like grounds.. idk

so you just need to connect yellow to an accessory or ignition wire by the sounds of it. The easiest option would be tag into the one behind your head unit.
