Default Help Help Help speakers +/- question

I'm trying to install a new set of speakers on my car but the car wires are all different colors so, how can i tell the + from the - ??? help. I don't have a light tester but i have a volt meter.

If you're using speaker wire, one side should be marked +, or just distinguished somehow. Match the + on the amp or the deck with the + on the speaker.

If you can't tell the + on the speaker, wire up a small battery to it and see which way it pops. If it pops out, it's wired properly. If it pops in, it's wired reverse.

Edit: The deck you're using should have a sticker that says the color and function of each wire.
