Default help with head unit install

the case that the cd player slides into and the plastic trim slides onto-what holds this into the console, the one i removed which turned out to be a big mistake i had a hard time getting out the new one would fall out, im sure its something stupid but ive had a real bad day and just want my car back together please help

I didn't understand a damn word you just said.

I'll take a guess. The metal sleeve, aka cage, is held in place by bending down some of the little tabs.

Ditto the above, I am not sure I understand exactly what you mean either, other then as mentioned above the HUs mounting sleeve/cage is held in place by bending the proper "tabs", would help if we knew what car we are talking about.

Also, if the HU was properly back braced it would not be falling out, even if the sleeve "tabs" were not bent to hold sleeve in the dash/kit. 94

Realistically... How many vehicles these days can you get your hands up in the radio cavity to "properly" attach a back brace?? Not many...

Not many... </TD></TR></TABLE> We back brace 99% of the cars we do the other 1% are the cars that the back is not accessible and most of them are Chrysler's and even on them we install a bracket to support the rear of the HU, I have yet to run into a Honda/Acura that a rear support could not be installed, in fact Honda/Acura are probably the easiest to brace. 94
