Default HELP! CD Player doesnt work~1

I just bought a stereo from ebay, and everything works except the cd.

When i turn on the stereo, it sounds like the cd player is trying to read something. When i try to put a cd in, it feels like it's blocking it. I push the eject button and it just whines and whizz and nothing. So did I get screwed with a broken stereo?

The guy said it works fine.

What kind of stereo is it? By any chance does it have transport screws installed? Probably not if it's anything but a Jensen or Dual...

I have a pioneer 2700

there are two plastic things I can see that are blocking the cd.

To my knowledge, Pioneers don't come with transport screws, so those two "plastic things" are most likely part of the loading mechanism, which is obviously tweaked...

Maybe it was damaged in shipping? Did you buy insurance on the package?

Have you tried to work it out with the seller??

Yeah I bought insurance for the package, and the seller states he didn't know it was busted. He bought it off another ebay member that said it was working pefectly fine. The seller I bought from said he just powered it up to see if it worked. Good thing I got that insurance.

In the ebay link he said "item is in very good condition" very good meaning that it should work!

Now you get the joy of dealing with filing a claim with the delivery carrier. Good luck. Hope you're patient.

Sorry UCLA.lion but unless the seller will repair, replace it or give you your money back, my guess would be your going to be pissing into the wind for a while.

Try this one thing, "reboot" the HU, this can be done by pressing the HUs reset button, if it has one, and by disconnecting the neg.(-) batt. lead for a few seconds, if the problem is the processor that will reboot it and CD transport will "reinitialize", [place transport in ready to load disk mode], cross your fingers. 94

It won't go into CD mode if there's no disc in there.

What is the model number on the sticker on the bottom of the HU?

Where did you find that pix, do you have a link? 94
