I bought my crx a couple months ago and it came with the following already for a system...
alpine head unit (not sure what type off the top of my head ; but has full digital display and some nice features) I'am guessing whatever model is ~$250-300
2 12" image dynamics subs in a sealed box
(are image dymanic any good)
4??? componant speakers, don't sound that great
1 mtx amp for the subs, ? what model
1 no-name amp for the mids/highs
optima red top battery, no crossovers, no caps.
The bass sounds ok, I would like better mids/highs and clarity. I like to keep things all 1 or 2 brands when doing things so I was thinking about the following setup...
keeping the alpine cd player and box if it provides enough volume for the type r's
2 pairs of alpine spr-17s 6.5" for the front/rear (70w rms@4ohm)
2 type-r 12" subs to replace the Image dynamics (500w rms@4ohm)
audiobahn A6004V amp (75w rms x4@4 ohm)
audiobahn dub2802 amp (500w rms x2@4 ohm)
I just want to have a nice system without spendin too much. I listen to everything so I would like fairly good sound quality and a decent amount of bass.
thanks.

Not sure of finding a rating system for them. But they are good speakers. I don't use them much, but have ran across them and I was impressed.

Please don't buy Audiobahn subs. Don't throw your money away. Why not get all Alpine equipment since you say you like it. All my equipment is Alpine except my sub which is a JL.
if you want better highs why dont you get the alpine components or infinity components. They will sound much better amped. If your amping them dont waste your time with a coaxile speaker

spending money on a component set for your rears
buy mid-bass drivers for the rear 6"s or better yet 8"s or do nothing with the space
spend the $ you would on rears on a better front component set (ie high end, mb quart, morel, focal, dyne audio, diamond, boston acoustic) and a larger mid amp.
Your front speakers are the most important, rears are used for ambient sound/ fill
